Skincare question; lemons - true or false?

I've heard that mixing a low concentration of lemon juice to milk and then applying it to the skin and face will act as a natural bleach, whitening skin and erasing fine lines. However I've also heard that lemon can dry the skin out, leave brown spots and create a blotchy appearance. Is this true? If so, how can lemon be made safe? Are there any effective bleaches or whiteners?

PLEASE don't say

a. 'Wear sunscreen' or

b. 'Go fork out fifty dollars for %26lt;insert chemical product name here%26gt; or

c. 'Natural skin is best!'Skincare question; lemons - true or false?
Yes, lemon is a natural bleach and can lighten your skin if applied properly. If you have sensitive skin, mix some pure lemon juice with a little honey and apply it on your face, best evenings, leave it on for 30 min. and rinse. Then apply a rich moisturizer because lemon is drying. I personally apply only lemon juice without anything else twice a week. It might sting a little but it's not dangerous. However, some people with very sensitive skin might experience acid burn from it. So if it starts to hurt or your skin gets red, rinse immediately and never use it again.

In my case, it also helps me with my blackheads and unclogs my pores, as the acid in lemon is a natural exfoliator. It leaves my skin baby soft and smooth. I'm not sure about wrinkles, though.

But there are rules if you want to try it:

Lemon juice makes your skin very sensitive to the sunlight and you MUST wear a very high spf sunblock every day, 40+. Otherwise your skin might get darker than before.

NEVER go outside with lemon juice on your face, especially if it's a sunny day.

The lightening effect will start to take place in 2-3 weeks, so you have to be persistent.

Good luck:)Skincare question; lemons - true or false?
i have tried that before and i recommend you dont because when you mix milk with citric acid, it causes a chemical reaction. the milk turned into little gloopy stuff which stank.

instead, mix milk with honey, or lemon with honey. milk is a natural skin whitener and also makes your skin really soft. honey has nutrients in it, and lemon is a great cleanser because of its acidity, it also melts away the top layer of dead skin, and can bleach your skin. leave on for 10-15mins then rinse. ive also heard that lemon and cucumber works, but ive never tried this.

you can actually even just slice up your lemon and rub onto your skin. but if you have sensitive skin, dont do it since it can itch and cause rashes. dilute the lemon juice with water before rubbing on skin.

and lastly, ALWAYS moisturise afterwards! because like you said, lemon can be drying for the skin.
I scrunch up Orange rind to release the oil in the skin and rub it on my face to clean and exfoliate. It feels great.

I am sure lemon juice or rind will have a similar affect and act as a bleach but I do not see any way it it will remove wrinkles.

Wrinkles need deep moisture or to be plumped up with some chemical to change. You can not bleach them away.
Same here - Ive never heard the one about milk, lemons pretty much good for everything I don't think it will leave your skin blotchy as its not strong enough. Google 'homemade face masks' and see what comes up surely there will be something about lemons. good Luck! x
Ive never heard the milk part ..

But lemon is good .. espically a lemon face mask ..

But the milk thing is just weird ...

No Offence

(Btw you can buy REALLY good lemon face masks) or else make your own ..
I have heard that lemon juice is good on the under arms to prevent bacteria and stop them from smelling naturally.

Not sure if this info helps.
crush aspirin into a powder and mix it with water so that its thick enough to make a facial mask. this whitens your skin
Honey DO NOT do this!

My aunt tried this and she is still under doctors care - ruined her skin completely. She had burns!

But hey it is true - it bleaches alright!!
No,just use whitening skin care is safer and more effective.
wow i never heard the milk part, but i have used fresh lemon juice, and it seemed to even out my skin! try it!
Praying
In Japan, rice was used as a whitener. Us Harajuku girls would make rice, mash it up and place them on our face as a mask. we would leave it on overnight and then make sushi out of it in the morning.

we had special ingredients for the sushi. i must not reveal it as the Yakuza mafia would cut me if i do. once the sushi had been made, the chemicals would be mixed together for optimum bleaching and whitening.

That's why us Japanese girls have such good skin
