what makes a religion false is what makes it true ...
your own beliefs .
if you believe it , it's true to you
if you don't , then it's not
well , at least until one religion is ';proven'; to all human kind to be the only true religion in the world. ( don't count on that ! )

If you get tax exempt status and have more than 30 followers performing ritualistic acts, then it is a religion, I don't see how it can be a 'false religion'.
Whether it is right or not is difficult since no religion has been proven.
Whether it is good or not depends on whether paganism is benefitting human kind.
A religion is false when it turns the founders words upside-down.
For example Jesus said: ';I will have mercy, and not sacrifice.'; He was quoting Hosea 6:6, which appears to be a condemnation of sacrifice for sin.
And yet, many have picked up on the words of the one who terrorized the first Christians who said Christ died for our sins. Further explained on my bio. Click on the avatar.
So turning the message upside-down in my opinion is what makes a religion false.
Nothing makes a religion false. Only obnoxious idiots would claim that any religion that is not their own is ';false';. They need to get off their high horse.
It is mostly the Christians who call other people's beliefs false. Pay no attention. The arrogance says A LOT more about their religion than it does about ours...
Religion is something you believe to be true. How I determine it is by seeking which has shown power. I have been over seas and seen some powerful stuff happen in christian conventions that has never happened in any other religion's conventions. I chose Christiantiy.
A fundamentalist . Christian religion would teach there is one God,
God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ. They
teach the Holy Spirit. They teach the virgin birth of Jesus. His death,. burial and resurrection. They teach having forgiveness of sin, the concept of sin.
Churches vary in other aspects, but these doctrines
are almost universal in
Christian churches.
Mostly, a false religion is a religion of someone other than the speakers.
That's how it usually goes. I'd say their all as valid as the next.
Except Scientology.
There is no right or wrong. Each must choose their own path and respect the path of others at the same time. Aldous Huxley wrote that all religions are the same at their inner core, beneath all the cultural framework.
Pagans believe in an OLD religion.

I don't know. Life is like negotiating a jungle path with a blindfold on.
A False Religion is merely a matter of perspective and intolerance. If someone belives that only their religion is true, then all other religions are false. It's as simple as that.
Abrahamic religions thrive on exclusivity. Each one of them preaches that the others are wrong. Their foundation for this claim to perfection is their set of respective fantasy tales.
Every religion that is not the religion practiced by a person, they consider false. pagans are no more no less false than christians
